has nearly 3,000 hours of sunshine per annum, ranging from
an average of five hours a day in winter to as much as twelve
hours in midsummer. In the summer the weather is gloriously
hot and rain extremely infrequent. In the winter the weather
is variable but with an average of five hours a day you can
still sit in cafes and enjoy a coffee or beer, however if
you're unlucky (or lucky depending on your point of view)
you might experience a BIG thunderstorm or two, which can
be pretty spectacular.
