Cabrera
means goat island 7km wide and 5km long can be reach from a 50 minute
jouney from coloy san jordi on the south of Mallorca. Napoleonic wars
9000 french prisoners, 3 year captivity 2/3rds died, memorial 10 minutes
from the harbour. Birthplace of hanibal. On way back, Blue grotto "Cova
Blava" 160 metres high 50 metre entrance spectacular chamber. 20
minute walk up to the ruined 14th castle which has amazing views back
over Mallorca. Uninhabited nature reserve with a wild range of birds,
twitchers paradise Manx and Cory sheerwaters Perigrine Falcons, and rare
gulls.
How to reach Cabrera:
Excursions by boat departing from the Colonia de Sant Jordi or Portopetro
between May until October.

Duration of the journey: 1 hour
Half an hour stop in Sa Cova Blava.
Portopetro - Cabrera:

Duration of the journey: 1 1/2 hours.
Remarks: The excursions depend from the weather. Please make your reservation
in advance.
